They say friendship gets better the longer it lasts. But do you think it has an expiry date like almost everything else here in this world?
Would it be right to compare it to a fine wine? Wine should ferment overtime; the bitterness and sweetness blend together until it reaches that peak of its flavor. Can the same be said with friendship? When can one say that they’re at the peak of their friendship? Do we really think about or notice those kinds of things?
Even wines can be overly aged. Too much time and eventually it is deemed unfit to drink. Should friendship be savored like how we would treat a fine bottle of wine? Should we treasure the peak times and expect that things eventually have to come to an end?
We humans make connections. Unlike wine bottles, emotions come in play in the human playing ground. Too complex and perplexing when the human factor is added. If only friends were as simple as wine bottles, and if they could talk that would be a plus. But unfortunately in the real world we have to deal with these kinds of things. How you deal them is your call. Good or bad decisions, right or wrong; it is all part of the cycle we call life.
We are social beings in this world. It is up to us to invest ourselves in people or not. When you feel that something is wrong, people better speak up. We make mistakes and that’s how we learn. And we need people to encourage and support us along this highly challenging world we live in. Maybe like a a fine bottle of wine that’ll make us speak up about things we keep inside, give us that courage to do the daring things we thought we could not, make us do stupid stuff, and might make our heads hurt yet realize the great time we had.
I can definitely say friendship can be compared to wine. Cherish each drop, raise your glass to the good times, pour another one to embelish the bad, and cheers to what lies ahead in life.
